Unstoppable study and revision motivation

Here is a guided self-hypnosis for you to try:
Sit or lie down in a relaxed, comfortable position
close your eyes
and take a few deep breaths

Rate yourself 1 from 10:
how motivated to I feel to study and/or revise right now?

Open your eyes, then close them again

Take another deep breath in and out

Think about something you’re really interested in or get really excited about when you feel that you are in “the zone”

And think of a moment in time when you are really in the zone doing this.

See what you see
hear what you hear.
Notice any ensations in or on the body

Think about the kind of positive, happy thoughts that you might be thinking – what might you be saying to yourself this time?
Smells and tastes might be present.

Cycle through each of these in turn – as if it’s happening right now.
Take the time to incorporate all of these together – merging them like this makes the wonderful pleasant experience even more powerful.

Great yourself one from 10 again now:
how motivated do I feel to study and/or revise now?

Repeat or focus in on specific special moments that you experienced doing the exercise above, until you can get as high from rating out of 10 as possible, and then:

Imagine packaging up all of this pleasant experience in a way that makes sense to you, and bring the whole of this pleasure forward in time, to a time when you need it the most. This might be:

In a few moments time when you’re sitting down to study or revise, or
imagining yourself for actually being, in a test or an exam

Time travelling into your motivated and successful future:

See yourself in this “merged” situation of the two situations, and:

See what you see.
Hear what you hear
See what you see
hear what you hear.
Notice any ensations in or on the body
. Think about the kind of positive, happy thoughts that you might be thinking – what might you be saying to yourself this time?
Smells and tastes might be present

Really take the time to notice and enjoy all of these powerful and pleasant experiences.

When you’re ready, take another deep breath in and out and then open your eyes.

Sid still and quiet for a few more moments and then… Well….

You know what to do now, don’t you?
